Lakeside Bus Station
A new look bus station and brand new Public Transport Guide, to make travelling to the centre by public transport much easier for shoppers, was unveiled on 30 September 2008 by Capital Shopping Centres at Lakeside, Thurrock. The upgraded bus station features a new information office that will be managed by Ensign, with clearer information for travellers displayed around the station. For six months prior to the launch, Essex-based Ensign Buses increased the frequency of its services and added more early and late buses to their schedule. Lakeside is working in close partnership with Ensign to improve the travelling experience for shoppers.
The new Lakeside Public Transport Guide, launched to coincide with the upgrade, provides shoppers with comprehensive information on rail and bus routes enabling them to plan the most effective means of getting to and from Lakeside. Details of local bus services including times, fare information, routes, frequency and duration of journey make it even easier to visit the centre.
The improvement to Lakeside’s bus station benefits the hundreds of shoppers that travel to the centre by bus every day. Together with the production of the guide, the changes emphasise the commitment to promoting a variety of travel options for visitors to Lakeside
